I wasn’t joking when I said I had an obsession with oils and serums. Featured here are a fraction of my “MUST HAVE” Serums + oils.
Let’s begin with SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Gel. As soon as you apply it to your skin it feels cool to the touch! And that’s exactly what it’s suppose to do. It’s suppose to calm and soothe irritated skin. You can apply on clean skin before you apply makeup. It also helps with redness. My bestie Joyce Delemos (a kick ass beauty scientist) was on the team that helped make the Phyto Corrective Mask which helps reduce redness, discomfort and heat. GO JOYCE!
Trilogy Rosehip Oil can be found at Wholefoods! It’s thick so a drop or two goes a long way! It’s great for moisture and helps reduce fine lines and scars. My skin gets super dry whenever I’m flying or constantly taking off and reapplying makeup. I use a drop or two before bed and as soon as I board a plane. I’ve also been using this on my scars, especially the ones left by nasty mosquito bites. What’s also great about this organic oil is that it doesn’t have a potent scent and it’s only $29!
SKININC is new skin care brand from Japan. Cool thing is you can make your own personalized serum on their website or at Sephora.com. “My Daily Dose” has Vitamin A, B and C. It helps balance and detox your skin. I like it because it goes on light, and absorbs quickly into the skin. It’s also great to double down by applying this serum right before using one of their facial masks. You get to have a facial in the comfort of your own home.
Glossier Super Bounce and Super Glow. Both serums are light and designed do different things. Super Glow has Vitamin C and Magnesium. It recharges your skin and gives your tired skin glow. It’s pretty light so it’s nice to put under your SPF. Super Bounce is made of Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5. It “eases tight, dehydrated skin (think: hangovers, long flights).” Each serum is $28 but they also have a package of their three serums for $65.
Another Wholefoods item. Good ol’ Arnica Extract. It’s not the nicest smelling product (it stinks) BUT it does a lot. It’s a homeopathic option for pain relief! It provides relief for sore muscles, bruises, insect bites, and more. I use it on my scalp after a long day of wearing a wig and I also use it on fresh bruises. Did I mention that I was a klutz?
