I’m a very visual person. As an actress I tell stories through film. But I also love taking photos, it’s a newly developed passion of mine and one of the reasons why I started my blog. I like documenting my travels, what I’m eating, and my current fashion obsessions. But one thing I haven’t really explored is filming my adventures, and editing them. Because, I don’t know how! As an actress you show up to set prepared, having done your character work. But there is an entire crew that handles lighting, camera operating and editing. I have zero experience in those fields. But boy, do I have an itch to learn.
As I mentioned in my last HP post, when I’m on vacation, my laptop usually stays in the hotel room. It’s just too heavy and inconvenient to lug around. For the past month I’ve been using the HP Spectre. It’s the thinnest laptop on the market, and also one of the lightest. It’s got a long battery life so a charger is necessary on day trips. On my last trip to Punta Cana, my Spectre came with me. I recently purchased a GoPro and have been playing around with filming and video editing. It was the perfect opportunity to test out my new gadgets! Although we were on a boat, I was able to edit my photos and dump the videos directly onto my laptop. I saw clearly what I was capturing. It sparked a newfound obsession. Although I realized I’ve still got a lot to learn about camera work and editing, it’s a start and it’s fun! My next plan will be to take my portable “editing room” to my first annual Chung and Greenberg family vacation. I think it will be a fun treat to be able to edit my own videos of our family trip in real time! Talk about ReInventing Obsessions!
So here it is, my first ever video that I edited in real time. Not terrible for a first go. Ha. Enjoy!
