A girls getaway doesn’t necessarily have to break the bank. Whether it’s celebrating a birthday weekend, bachelorette or a girls getaway to just catch up, you don’t have to pick a location that is out of your budget. Why not plan for a fun staycation? Or pick a location in a neighboring city? As long as there is warm enough weather to enjoy a stroll or to lounge by the pool, and yummy food, all you really need are your besties! It’s all about spending quality time with your friends.

My  girlfriends and I live in Los Angeles. Staying at a hotel about an hour or two away from our homes was enough to make it feel like a proper girls trip. If you’re in Los Angeles there are great Marriott hotels located in the city, by the beach in Santa Monica, up towards Santa Barbara, San Diego or in Palm Springs! Like at the Triada Palm Springs, Autograph Collection, where I took these fun pictures. So pick a location that is close enough for you and all your friends but far away enough that the trip requires a quintessential road trip and it’s essentials: crunchy snacks from the gas station, cruising music and lots of laughs. You can browse and search for Marriott properties in or near your city here.

Make sure to pick a weekend that isn’t during the high season (when school is out). This will usually guarantee you lower hotel rates. Checking the school calendar for the respective state you live in is what has worked for me in the past. It also doesn’t hurt to call the hotel and make sure there isn’t a wedding or big convention in town the weekend you are planning around. Check to see if your credit card points could be used towards your stay or at least cover some of the meals at or around the hotel. Just a friendly reminder that cardmembers of the Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card from Chase can refer a friend to sign up for the card here, with the opportunity to earn up to 10,000 bonus points for the referral and bonus points for the cardmember. 🙂 I love racking up points. Anyway, which ever location you pick, make sure to load up your music, pack accordingly and enjoy spending this time with your friends. It’s sad to say but true: As we get older, time is a priceless commodity, and it gets more difficult trying to juggle everyone’s schedule to plan a trip. So take advantage now and plan your next girls getaway!
