The perfect summer accessory isn’t a great pair of shoes or the newest handbag, it’s my laptop. Whether it was on a beach in Punta Cana or on set in New York City and everywhere in between, my HP Spectre came with me. It was the perfect piece of machinery to edit photos, read scripts, blog, and research movies. It has also sparked my newest obsession: shooting and editing videos and integrating this new form of entertainment onto my social platforms as well as my personal life. The Core i7 processor allows you to run multiple tasks at once but also gave me more speed; great for someone always on the go. 

What’s my favorite thing about this accessory? The beautiful screen and the Bang & Olufsen speakers. I’m always doing research on my laptop which means I have to watch a lot of movies and TV shows; and yes, it’s considered work! The Spectre’s got amazing clarity and impressive sound, which is surprising considering most of the lightweight laptops on the market usually sacrifice picture quality for size. But now that I’m playing around with video and editing, having immaculate picture quality and sound is extremely important to me.

My parents came out to New York City for their very first time a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to make sure that I captured every minute of it (mentally and digitally). They weren’t very impressed with the city life and asked me to take them to Niagara Falls. They love the great outdoors, plus seeing this natural wonder was high on their bucket list. So I booked us a day trip. We did everything we possibly could in our 9 hour getaway and was happy that I brought my camera and Spectre me. At the end of the day when we were waiting for our flight back to NYC, I was able to quickly upload and edit a quick video of our day. Nothing brought them more joy than to able to see the recap of their Niagara Falls trip. They pointed out things they had missed and we shared a couple of laughs of how we all looked so ridiculous in these bright blue ponchos; all while huddled around my laptop waiting for our plane to board. Family is everything, and now I’m able to capture these memories in a new way. And who knows…maybe this new hobby will bring more opportunities my way. It’s certainly opened my eyes as to what happens behind the camera, when I’m on set. A new appreciation for the details and moments they capture.
