Here’s more proof that California is a beautiful place to live. My next destination? BIG SUR.
There are two great, yet very different places to stay in Big Sur. Treebones Resort and the Post Ranch Inn. Post Ranch Inn is pretty pricey but great for special occasions. It’s very fancy shmancy. We opted for the hippie route and stayed at the Treebones Resort. You can stay in one of their many yurts or request their one and only treehouse. Only downside to this hippie haven were private bathrooms. Don’t worry they have communal showers and restrooms.
If you are feeling really adventurous you can request to camp in the human nest. I’d advise against it tho because temperatures drop drastically during the evenings.
If you happen to make the trip to Big Sur, don’t forget to check out Hearst Castle. It was a hot destination during the 30’s, housing people like Charlie Chaplin, Winston Churchill and Howard Hughes and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. If you’re lucky you might catch a glimpse of a zebra. Yup, you read correctly…Zebras.
Amazing right? It only gets better…
Big Sur is famous for their desolate beaches, waterfalls and the Redwood Forest so don’t forget to pack a pair of all terrain sneakers.
