Jeff Kim pulled this look a couple of weeks ago and I immediately gravitated towards it. I like the juxtaposition of well-tailored sharp-looking pants paired with a deconstructed top. I’m also loving this monochromatic theme and color for spring. Thank you Milly for letting me wear these beautiful pieces!
There’s not a smooth way to segue into this next bit. But the title of this post is pretty straightforward. Let’s talk about this New Year! I usually don’t like committing myself to New Year’s resolutions, but there is one commitment that I always try to strive towards. How to be a kinder person. One can’t be kind enough. There are always moments in life where a simple act of kindness or even a smile can make someone’s day just a little bit lighter. That’s why I continue to surround myself with friends and family that inspire me to do so.
Certain things can’t and will not change with a simple act of kindness. It requires action. This year I am committing myself to have those awkward conversations of what I think is unjust. What I think is flawed with our system, politically, socially and economically. The time is now to stand up to the bullies, put your money where your heart is and really fight for change. To fight for equal pay, fair representation and equal treatment. Because if we don’t, who will?
The time is now to VOTE, get more involved with your community, to listen and try to understand the “other side,” and have them understand you. The time is now to be a catalyst for positive change, and most importantly STAY WOKE. Know what’s going on in our country and around the world. Have an opinion.
I hope this was encouraging. I hope you really understand that YOU make a difference, and hopefully it’s for the better. Won’t you take on this resolution with me? Find what it is you are passionate about and be a catalyst for positive change.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Here’s to a better 2018 for us all.
