I’m all about my girlfriends chasing their dreams and making moves. I feel like the hardest step is wrapping your head around the idea of venturing into the unknown. Don’t let that fear overwhelm you and discourage you from chasing your dreams; starting your own business, changing careers, going back to school, starting a blog. But instead, use that fear to fuel you, to be the catalyst of your major life change.
After I graduated from College, I felt like it was a good time to chase after my dream of being an actor. Aside from being apart of a theater group in middle school, I had zero experience or proper training as an actor. The biggest fear for me was failure and embarrassment. I was terrified to tell my friends and family that I wanted to act. So secretly, I started taking acting classes and spent my spare time on sets paying my dues as an extra. Instead of letting my fear deter me from taking that first big leap, I used it as fuel. I told myself that I wasn’t going to let myself fail. At that time I only told 2 of my closest friends (my then roommates) what I was doing, and without missing a beat, I had their support. They helped me go over lines for auditions, and helped talk me out of really vulnerable and insecure moments. They were there to celebrate my milestone career accomplishments, and also there to help drown my sorrows after blowing auditions. I made it because I had their support.
That’s why I choose to support my girlfriends who have also taken the giant leap of faith. They overcame their fear and believed in themselves. Jessica Moss my neighbor is a great example! That’s why I’m trying to help spread the word of her line Nation LTD. They make the coziest t-shirts and beautiful slips like the one I’m wearing below. All the items are designed and made in Los Angeles. Like the creator and designer Jessica Moss, the line is the epitome of cool girl, casual chic. Check out more from her line here! I’m currently crushing on her silk robes. And side note, if you’re looking for a new travel food blog check out my other friends blog www.thedashanddine.com. And for a candid, honest conversation of all things personal check out www.funkindeepfreeze.com. Megan’s posts will make you laugh and cry. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this. And remember, be kind, be awesome, and support your girlfriends.
