I have been a long time supporter of Westward Leaning. Not only because they make the most stylish sunglasses or because their company is based in San Francisco (my hometown – a huge plus), but also because they are innovative in design and a socially conscious company. A brand that cares about their community and chooses to give back.
I’m so honored that they asked me to be a part of their SPORT Campaign. The sunglasses they designed for their new performance eyewear line are SICK. Bladerunner meets functional fashion is the first thing that popped into mind. That’s what I felt, at least when we were shooting the campaign. But there’s nothing gimmicky about it. You can style it with your everyday look but the sunglasses are made for you to sweat in them. With a lightweight design, 100% UV protection, non slip nose pads, sleek curved design for 180 degrees of eye protection and made with shatter proof lenses and with a coating that protects it from scratches; these sunglasses are also made for a very active lifestyle.
My current favorite is STUN in Polished Gold with Muted Gold Mirror Lens. Talk about Sport meets Chic! They look great on but they also fit well. All the designs have adjustable nose bridges which is a necessity when you have a small nose and almost non existent bridge. But I’m also loving the pops of color available in VIBE.
As its socially-conscious component, the Westward Leaning SPORT line is supporting a new initiative from Street Soccer USA called Ladies First. Ladies First provides community soccer programs in underserved communities. As someone who played sports growing up in public school I can say with confidence that it provided me with positive leadership, taught me how to be a team player. It gave me a sense of community, newfound confidence, and a strong reason to do well in school. Learn more about Ladies First HERE. See the full campaign here!
