When I first moved into my husbands fully furnished house (whoa, that’s so weird reading out loud) I was faced with a decorating dilemma. Bryan’s bachelor pad furniture. Brown couches, beige/brown carpet, and beige curtains. My husband has great style, he bought this beautiful mid-century home, but the living space didn’t do him justice. I had an idea of how I wanted our new shared space to look and feel like but I found it frustrating and impossible to achieve. I don’t have an interior design background. Nor do I have the patience to spend hours upon days furniture shopping. This is where Decorist came into the picture. It’s based out of San Francisco (my hometown woot woot) and it’s a convenient way to decorate any room because it’s all done online! (I am not being paid to endorse them, I’m genuinely a HUGE fan of this service.) Ok with that out of the way, this is how it works.
They have three different levels of designers based on their experience with 3 set prices. Choose one and they will link you up with a designer.
Exchange some emails! Fill out a short questionnaire including details about the room you want to decorate and measurements…don’t forget to include photos! And most importantly, you give them your budget.
Your decorist designer will send you a mock up of your room. Like the one below. We got lucky enough to link up with Ashley Redmond.
Send them notes, if you have any, and they will send back one final mockup with links to purchase the items. They also have a service where they can purchase all the items for you. It’s happiness guaranteed! For more info head on over to Decorist.com.
